Corbett schedules book fair
Corbett Grade School, 35800 E. Historic Columbia River Highway, will host a book fair Monday through Friday, Nov. 10-14.
Proceeds will go toward purchasing books.

SALT Academy and Performing Arts Company will host the grand opening of its new studio at 710 N.E. Cleveland Ave., just north of the MAX tracks and across from Alpha High School, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.
The event will feature refreshments, live entertainment from the students and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2:30 p.m. performed by Rose Festival Queen Marshawna Williams.

Umpqua Bank and CASA CardsTM, the fundraising arm of local nonprofit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), have teamed up to display artwork created by more than 1,000 Portland metro-area students from local schools at bank branches.
Artwork from students at Hogan Cedars Elementary School in Gresham is on display at the Umpqua Bank, 1027 N.W. Norman Ave. A silent auction will be held at the bank at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, to benefit the school. The Hogan Cedars display will discontinue after the auction.
