St. Luke hosting labyrinth day
The public is invited to spend a retreat on and around the outdoor labyrinth at St. Luke the Physician Episcopal Church, 120 S.W. Towle Ave., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
“You Are Known … You Are Welcomed: Our Path and the Sacred Path” will be led by the Rev. Kurt Neilson, author of “Urban Iona: Celtic Hospitality in the City.”
The day will include storytelling, meditation, walking the labyrinth and opportunities for art and conversation. Suggested donation is $20, $10 for seniors, $5 for students and unemployed. Lunch is included.

Springwater church packing boxes for troops
Springwater Church of the Nazarene, 3445 S.E. Hillyard Road, will host a packing of boxes for troops serving overseas, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
Volunteers will pack boxes with such items as crackers, snack bars, toothbrushes and deodorant.

Church plans free Halloween event
Cherry Park Presbyterian Church, 348 Cherry Park Road, Troutdale, will host “Trunk and Treat,” a Halloween celebration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
The church’s parking lot will be filled with cars, the trunks of which will be filled with goodies. Free hot dogs, chips, cookies and soda also available.

Adventist church to host healing seminar Oct. 17
Rockwood Adventist Church, 1910 S.E. 182nd Ave., will host a seminar featuring guest speaker and psychiatrist Timothy Jennings, on “Healing for the Mind: A Biblical model for mental healing including depression and related issues,” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. Lunch provided.
The six-session seminar costs $99, but the fee will be waived for the first 200 people.
