ADVERTISEMENTS
Thanksgiving is finally over, which can only mean for many people that it’s time to start preparing for Christmas.
The weekend after Thanksgiving is usually the busiest time to start on holiday shopping, and it’s also the time when most tree farms open up and start selling u-cut Christmas trees.
The Outlook has compiled a list of area farms where you can either select and cut your own Christmas tree, or have a farm employee do the cutting for you.
Tree growers offer a wider selection of high-quality, healthier trees to choose from. The listings include addresses, phone numbers, operating hours, the types of trees for sale and additional services and attractions, such as complementary saws and baling, wreaths, gift shops, refreshments and candy.
To save yourself time, you should consider calling the farm beforehand to check on stock and to make sure it has the types and sizes of trees that you’re looking for.
You should also check on pricing and payment options, as some tree farms only accept cash or checks.
Whatever you do, just remember to bring the family with you and have fun.
