Charles “Chuck” Lee Cooper
Jan. 28, 1927-Sept. 27, 2006
Gresham resident Charles “Chuck” Lee Cooper, 79, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center in Gresham. A private family service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.
Chuck was born Jan. 28, 1927, in St. Paul, Ark., to John and Bertha C. (Collins) Cooper.
He joined the Navy in January 1945 and served in China and the Pacific at the end of World War II. He was honorably discharged in December 1947, having attained the rank of electricians mate third class.
Chuck married Mary Lou Harden on April 29, 1950, in Sitka, Alaska, where he served in the Alaska National Guard.
As a union electrician, he worked on projects in several states, including the Hells Canyon Dam and Alaskan Pipeline. He retired in 1989 and moved to Florence. In 2004, he moved to Sandy, in 2006 to Gresham.
Chuck was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 55 years.
Survivors include his wife of Gresham; daughter, Charlene Cooper Woods of Troutdale; son, David Lee Cooper of Danbury, Conn.; and sister, Lucille Brickley of Fairview.

Jeremy David Sirokman
Feb. 12, 1976-Sept. 26, 2006
East County resident Jeremy David Sirokman, 30, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, in Troutdale. A memorial service was held Friday, Sept. 29, at Gresham Funeral Chapel.
Jeremy was born Feb. 12, 1976, in Denver to Edward and Connie (Phillips) Sirokman. He was raised and educated in Englewood, Colo.
In November 1999, Jeremy moved to the Portland-metro area, where he worked for various Quiznos franchises. In 2003, he became manager of the Gresham Quiznos.
On March 22, 2003, Jeremy married Charlena Ruybal in Las Vegas.
He coached fifth- and sixth-graders in the Powell Football League and coached a Parkrose Little League team.
Jeremy was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed the Denver Broncos, spending time outdoors and cooking.
Survivors include his wife of Portland; sons, Tyler Sirokman and Jacob Sirokman, both of Portland; parents of Denver; and sisters, Jennifer Waller of Pueblo, Colo., and Melissa Sirokman of Denver.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Powell Football League or Parkrose Little League.

Joanne M. Martinson
May 13, 1931-Sept. 28, 2006
East county resident, Joanne M. Martinson, 75, died Thursday, Sept. 28, in Gresham. A memorial service for will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Gresham Funeral Chapel, 257 S.E. Roberts Ave.
Joanne was born May 13, 1931, in Vader, Wash., to Clifford and Ella (Skinner) Carlsen. The family moved to Portland, where she graduated from Grant High School and briefly attended Oregon State University.
Joanne returned to Portland, where she worked as a phone operator for Pacific Northwest Bell.
She met Kenneth Martinson, who worked as a phone installer and repairman. They married July 17, 1952, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Portland.
The couple settled in East County.
In 1971, Joanne returned to retail sales for Meier & Frank, Frederick & Nelson and Mervyns. She retired in 1988.
Joanne enjoyed cooking, sewing and her dogs. She was a member of East Hill Church and volunteered at St. Aidans.
Her husband preceded her in death last April.
Survivors include her sons, Steven Martinson and Daniel Martinson of Gresham and Michael Martinson and Timothy Martinson of Portland; daughter, Sarah Carpenter of Gresham; sisters, Marjorie Chandler of Bend and Ella Lee Ross of Little Rock, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jane Elizabeth Walton
Oct. 26, 1926-Sept. 25, 2006
Former Gresham resident Jane Elizabeth Walton, 79, died Monday, Sept. 25, in Portland. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Chapel of Forest Lawn Mausoleum, 400 S.W. Walters Road, Gresham.
She was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Riverhead, N.Y., to Frederick Benjamin and Edith Powell (Rackett) Wells. She was raised and educated in Riverhead.
She was married and divorced.
Jane was a waitress at Tepper’s Restaurant in Riverhead.
She married Harry Walton in Riverhead in 1959. She was a homemaker.
