Lori Hansen lets out a whoop as she cheers on her daughter, Lily Carey, who plays for the Corbett High School Cardinals varsity volleyball team during a home game Thursday, Oct. 4.

The game was a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The team lost to visiting De La Salle in four games, but the Cardinals raised $1,741 for the foundation. The Corbett Booster Club donated the ticket sales, and gift baskets and a pink cake that the volleyball team baked were raffled off. The first 200 to arrive got free pink Susan G. Komen T-shirts. Even the players, coaches and referees wore pink.
