JoLee Medler
Jan. 23, 1949-July 9, 2009
Portland resident JoLee Medler, 60, died Thursday, July 9.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the American Legion, 1830 S.E. 122nd Ave., Portland.
JoLee was born Jan. 23, 1949, in Portland to Dwayne and Gladine (Atherton) Pense. She graduated from David Douglas High School in 1967.
On Jan. 5, 1991, she married Monte Medler in Portland.
JoLee’s interests included gardening, camping and traveling.
Survivors include her husband; mother, Gladine Pense of Portland; sons, David Hornbuckle of Puyallup, Wash., and Chris Hornbuckle of Portland; daughters, Brooke Wagner of Gresham and Sarah Felix of Portland; two brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren.

Feb. 23, 1946-July 5, 2009
Gresham resident Linda Kay Fox, 63, died Sunday, July 5, in La Grande.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at First Baptist Church, 224 W. Powell Blvd.
Linda was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Oregon City to John M. and Ethel L. (McMeekin) Fox. The family moved to Gresham and Linda graduated from Gresham High School in 1964.
She worked for GTE and Verizon as an equipment assistant from 1974 until her retirement in 2002. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where she took an active role on boards within the church. She enjoyed scrapbooking and ceramics.
Survivors include her son, Nathan Fox of San Diego; sisters, Janet Beeson of La Pine and Debbie Styles of Chico, Calif.; brother, Shawn Fox of Molalla; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests contributions to First Baptist Church, 224 W. Powell Blvd., Gresham, 97030.

Dec. 8, 1913-July 8, 2009
Former Springdale resident Helen Georgia Walker, 95, died Wednesday, July 8, in Sandy.
A graveside service was held Monday, July 13, at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Helen was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Springdale to Lewis and Felicia Meter.
She married Glen Walker, who preceded her in death.
Helen lived in Portland for the majority of her life and worked in retail. After retiring, she did volunteer work to keep busy. She enjoyed her flower gardens and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her sons, Terry and Gary Caldwell, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Jerry Caldwell of Rockaway Beach and Teri Caldwell of Sandy; great-grandson, Mitchell Edwards of Sandy; and nephew, Ken Meter of Portland.

Michael Wesley Straw, 60, of Boring died Tuesday, June 23.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Sandy Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 16317 S.E. Bluff Road.
Michael was born Jan. 1, 1949, in Portland to Merle and Shirley (Howerton) Straw. He was raised and educated in Glide and graduated from Glide High School in 1969. He then attended Portland Community College.
On June 22, 1991, he married Tammy Nelson in Glide.
Michael worked for the Oregon State Transportation Services Department of Motor Vehicles for 13 years. He loved fishing, sports, cars and nature.
