District reschedules interviews for board candidates

Because of the high number of applicants – 12 – the Reynolds School District Board candidate interviews have been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Walt Morey Middle School, 2801 S.W. Lucas St., Troutdale.

The board had originally scheduled interviews for its 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, regular meeting at Fairview City Hall, 1300 N.E. Village St.

Both meetings are open to the public. However, no public comment or questions will be taken at the Nov. 19 meeting.

The board is looking for applicants to fill a vacancy in position 6. John Nelsen, who served on the board for 11 years in that position – and served as chairman from 2007-09 – recently resigned because of family reasons.

The application deadline closed on Nov. 6. The district will post the names of the candidates on its Web site, www.reynolds.k12.or.us, next week.
