A man ran from a Troutdale grocery store Monday, Nov. 30, after attempting to steal the prescription drug Oxycontin at gunpoint.
A white male entered the Albertson’s store, 25691 S.E. Stark St., around 10:45 a.m. Monday. He confronted the pharmacist at the counter and said he had a gun and wanted 80 milligrams of Oxycontin, “not the generic.”
When the pharmacist handed him $1,100 of generic oxycodone, he handed the bottle back and demanded the “real Oxycontin.” As the pharmacist was looking for that, he allegedly said, “I have a gun and if she does not hurry up, I am going to start shooting.”
After several more seconds, the suspect apparently refused to wait any longer and ran from the store empty handed. A search for the suspect was unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, about 6-feet tall, thin and wearing a white wool stocking hat, a dark winter jacket and a white sleeveless T-shirt wrapped around his neck.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Troutdale Police Department by calling 503-823-3333.
