Christmas tree sale benefits animal shelter

ADVERTISEMENTS

A Gresham family will sell Christmas Trees in Fairview this weekend with proceeds going to benefit the Multnomah County Animal Services’ Troutdale shelter.

Approximately 100 Douglas fir Christmas trees, donated by Don Wilhite of Angel Acres in Estacada, will be sold for $20 each from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Woodland Elementary School, 21607 N.E. Glisan St., Fairview. The tree sale will continue, weather permitting, on Sunday, Dec. 6.

Jayme Hayes, a teacher at Woodland Elementary School in Fairview, came up with the idea to raise money for the shelter at 1700 W. Historic Columbia River Highway.

Hayes, who will be assisted by her husband, Virgil, and their sons, Connor, 14, and Foster, 10, credits the generosity of all involved with making the fundraiser possible.

“Everything was donated, down to the wood for signs,” she says. “It’s been really great that people are so willing to help.”
