MONDAY, FEB. 1

The Secret to Permanent Weight Loss – 6 to 7 p.m., Gresham Library, 385 N.W. Miller Ave. The Foundation for Wellness Professionals will host a free community workshop on the five secrets to permanent weight loss, with Dr. Jesse Nuttall of Gresham. Attendees will learn to make better choices concerning their diet and exercise and other issues. Call 503-489-2993 to register. A second workshop in Spanish will be presented on Tuesday at Rockwood Library.

Little Trout Play Park – 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays until June 8, Sam Cox Building, Glenn Otto Community Park, 1106 E. Historic Columbia River Highway, Troutdale. For children up to age 5. Kids make playtime pals while they ride trikes, catch balls and build castles. Cost is $1.50 per child each visit. Participants will receive a calendar of dates when there is no play park.
