Jason E. Chapman, 37, of Gresham remains in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center after being shot in the side of his chest at the Gresham Players Club on Friday, Jan. 29.
Chapman, who has injuries to his lungs, diaphragm, stomach and colon, is now dealing with infections in his lung and abdomen, said his wife, Angela Chapman.
He has no medical insurance, and an account for his hospital bills has been set up at any KeyBank location under the name Jason E. Chapman.
Richard K. Gilbertson, 42, also of Gresham, was shot in the arm and has no feeling in his left hand.
A Multnomah County grand jury has indicted Carroll L. Mayfield, 66, of Sandy on seven counts of attempted aggravated murder and two counts of first-degree assault. He is being held on $2.25 million bail at the Inverness Jail.
Police say the shooting was random. The motive for why the gray-haired retiree shot at the poker players remains a mystery.
