“How to Catch Steelhead” Fishing Clinic — 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Glenn Otto Park, Sam Cox Building, 1106 E. Historic Columbia River Highway, Troutdale. The Sandy River chapter of the Northwest Steelheaders will host this free fishing clinic. From 7 to 10 a.m., learn the basic methods and rigging for steelhead fishing. IHOP Free Buttermilk Pancakes — 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., IHOP, 4931 S.E. 82nd Ave., Portland. In celebration of National Pancake Day, IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. For every free stack of pancakes, customers are encouraged to make a donation. Donations made at IHOPs in the Portland area will go to the Children’s Miracle Network program at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The 82nd Avenue location is the closest IHOP to Gresham.
