THURSDAY, MARCH 18

Tiny Tots Class and Skate – 9:30 to 11 a.m., Gresham Skate World, 1220 N.E. Kelly Ave. Cost is $3.75. With every paid admission, one parent can skate free. Call 503-667-1647 for information.

Homeschool Skate – 1 to 3 p.m., Gresham Skate World, 1220 N.E. Kelly Ave. Cost is $3.75. Open to homeschoolers of all ages. Call 503-667-1647 for information.

Oil Painting Class – 5:30 to 9 p.m., City Conference Building, 223 Buxton Ave., Troutdale. For ages 15 and up. In this “Bob Ross” style of oil painting, you will start with a blank canvas and leave with a masterpiece. Taught by Judy Stubb and Pam Davis. Cost is $57, and includes canvas, paints and supplies. Mental Illness Support Group for Family Members – 6 to 7:30 p.m., Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, Administrative Building, Columbia Room, 23800 S.E. Stark St. A drop-in group for family members of people who have a mental illness to share their stories and find support. No registration needed. For information, call Lin at 503-492-1229. Sponsored by NAMI of Multnomah County.

Adult Basketball – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Sweetbriar Elementary Gym, 502 Sweetbriar Lane, Troutdale. For ages 18 and up. Pick-up games of basketball for adults. Free. Closed on school holidays.

FRIDAY, MARCH 19

Follow the Breath, Follow the Pen – 6 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday, Hidden Lake Retreat, 24004 S.E. Crane Road, Eagle Creek. Join Karen Hangsterfer and Madeleine Eno at a beautiful lakefront lodge to uncover stories long held in your body and mind in a two-day (Friday and Saturday) workshop. Whether you’re a beginner or lifelong practitioner, this time together – on the mat, in nature, with pen in hand – they’ll help move those discoveries onto the page. Friday Night Basketball – 7:30 to 9 p.m., Walt Morey Middle School, 2801 S.W. Lucas Drive, Troutdale. For ages 12-17. Participants must be dressed to play basketball or will not be permitted in gym. Spring Break All-Night Skate Skate – 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., Gresham Skate World, 1220 N.E. Kelly Ave. Limited to students from Gresham-Barlow, Reynolds, Centennial, Corbett, David Douglas and Sandy school districts. Permission required for ages 17 and younger.
