Dale taught at Pleasant Valley School for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Standards and Practices Commission of Oregon and the negotiations team for the Centennial School District. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing and dancing to any music. He was a member of the Portland Symphonic Choir.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Moulton.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Brent Moulton of La Grande and Scott Moulton of Gresham; daughter, Michele Kuhnau of Fairview; sisters, Bonnie Deets of Clackamas and Bev Stultz of Baker City; brother, Delbert Moulton of Baker City; and four grandchildren.

Frank Lucius Marcy
Jan. 28, 1914-March 5, 2008
Sandy resident Frank Lucius Marcy, 94, died Wednesday, March 5, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Cascadia Village, 39495 Cascadia Village Drive, Sandy. Private burial will be at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
Frank was born Jan. 28, 1914, in Milford, Kan., to Frank and Ella (Stittsworth) Marcy. He graduated from Kansas State College with a degree in agronomy.
On April 13, 1941, he married Joyce C. Sahlberg in Wichita, Kan. They lived on the family farm in Milford, where Frank raised wheat and cattle. In 1961, they moved to Sandy, where Frank built their home on Bluff Road and developed several duplexes. The family also had homes in Seaside and Australia.
Frank earned his master’s degree in special education and worked at schools in the Sandy school district. He also worked in Medford as a counselor for single women with children. He worked for the last 15 years as a greeter at Hi-School Pharmacy until its closure in September 2007.
Frank was instrumental in forming the Sandy Senior Center and the Sandy Community Action Center. After his retirement, he kept active by volunteering for Meals-on-Wheels, tutoring at grade schools and helping with Kiwanis Club projects. He and his family also hosted Japanese exchange teachers and an exchange student.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2003.
Survivors include his daughters, Sharon Marcy of Wichita and Denise Simoncini of Portland; sons, Milton Marcy of Portland and Timothy Marcy of Oregon City; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Lloyd Orville Anderson
July 1, 1916-March 6, 2008
Gresham resident Lloyd Orville Anderson, 91, died Thursday, March 6.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 400 S.W. Walters Drive.
Lloyd was born July 1, 1916, in Webster, S.D., to Ole and Olive (Gast) Anderson.
In 1983, he married Josephine Mullen. He was a longtime resident of Portland but moved to Gresham in 1982.
Lloyd worked as an ironworker and later as an electrician. He belonged to Local 48 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a Lutheran, and his interests included gardening, the rodeo and traveling yearly to South Dakota.
Survivors include his wife; son, David Anderson of San Diego; daughter, Cheryl Bergman of Boring; sisters, Arlene Maloney of Puyallup, Wash., Lois Jackson of The Dalles and Joyce Maloney of Puyallup, Wash.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Anna Mae Summerfield

East County resident Anna Mae Summerfield, 94, died Thursday, March 6.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd.
Anna was born Sept. 25, 1913, near Starfield, Mo., to Rollie Lee and Clara Belle (Carter) Musser, the oldest of 12 children.
In 1930, she married Edgar L. Summerfield. They moved to Oregon in 1943 and settled in St. Helens.
Anna worked as a clerk for Sherlock Grocery and as a homemaker and seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974; her daughter, Doris Jean, in 1936; her grandson, Tim Vidos, in 2007; six brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include her brother, Rollie Musser of Gower, Mo.; sisters, Doris Brinton and Joanne Gilleland of St. Joseph, Mo.; son, Elmer Summerfield of Seaside; daughters, Edith Vidos of Las Vegas, Nancy Summerfield of Hillsboro and Betty Light of Oregon City; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Bertha Alvina Davis
Oct. 24, 1906-March 6, 2008
Wood Village resident Bertha Alvina Davis, 101, died Thursday, March 6, in Gresham.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Gresham Memorial Chapel, 257 S.E. Roberts Ave. A committal service will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 400 S.W. Walters Drive.
Bertha was born Oct. 24, 1906, in Coral, Mich., to Herman and Alvine (Seeger) Greenberg. She graduated from high school in Coral.
In 1930, she married Jay Cook. In 1945, she married Lloyd Hooper. She later married Walter Davis.
Bertha worked as a housekeeper and did laundry for people in the area. During World War II, she worked in an aircraft engine plant in Muskegon, Mich. She later packed up and moved to Portland. She then worked in the Portland shipyards and lived in Vanport.
She loved to garden and had a great passion for roses. She was featured in a Nov. 14, 2006, profile in The Outlook.
She was preceded by her first husband, Jay, in 1940; second husband, Lloyd, in the 1960s; third husband, Walter, in 1989; and sons, Robert Cook and Francis Cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Watzlawick of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Peter “Pete” Bauer
Sept. 16, 1933-March 4, 2008
Gresham resident Peter “Pete” Bauer, 74, died Tuesday, March 4, in Clackamas.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Hillsview Community Church, 23225 S.E. Borges Road, Damascus.
Pete was born Sept. 16, 1933, in Portland to Preston and Blanche (Luce) Bauer, making him a fifth-generation Oregonian. He graduated from Washington High School in 1951, and attended the Northwest School of Law for several years.
On Sept. 4, 1954, he married Joyce Ann Lansing.
Pete was known as a jack-of-all-trades. He worked as a baker until his mid-30s, and then he worked as a carpenter until his retirement in 1996. He also owned “Bauer Tree Farm” in Estacada.
He loved his family and friends, a good belly laugh and the outdoors, especially his family’s winter home in Coral Gables, Fla.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Michelle Smith of Gresham; son, Kurt Bauer of Estacada; brothers, Richard Bauer of Portland and Michael Bauer of Portland; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
Remembrances can be made to the “New Roof” project at Hillsview Community Church, 23225 S.E. Borges Road, Damascus, 97089-6521.
