Reynolds student stands up for her school
I am a proud student at Reynolds High School, and I am prospering there in many ways. The articles giving Reynolds the name, ‘the drop out school,’ are misleading because they don’t take into account the people who transfer, move, or ‘drop out’ because of health or family reasons.
Instead of focusing on numbers and statistics, why don’t we focus on what opportunities and benefits Reynolds has to give? Reynolds offers clubs, honors classes, link crew, leadership, sports, star programs … etc.
I know many students who are taking steps forward in succeeding in those activities. Without the encouragement of my counselors, coaches and teachers, I wouldn’t be where I am today – involved in one club, link crew, sports and maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. If students push themselves at Reynolds, one can go above and beyond.
The students at Reynolds today will be our presidents and role models of tomorrow.
